Background

Who is National Safety Town Center?

The National Safety Town Center serves as a resource and coordinating agency to local communities in establishing and conducting early childhood safety programs.

The Center has provided speakers, information, books and additional materials to over 3000 programs throughout the United States and 38 other countries. It also provides services, education information and materials to nursery/elementary schools, special classes, events and other organizations.

Millions of children, teenagers, teachers and parents have benefitted from the program through the efforts of the National Safety Town Center.

Established in 1964, by Dorothy Chlad Ph.D CSE, National Safety Town Center was the first and only organization dedicated solely to promote preschool-early childhood safety education.

Bill Cosby serves as Honorary Chairman of this non-profit 501-C3 organization.

In 1982 the International Child Safety & Health Center became a reality to accomodate 'spin off' programs; such as Safety Village, Safety City, Safetyville, and others.
